Course content and outcomes

At the conclusion of this course the delegate should understand:

  • New developments around EE and concerns and observations from the Commission for EE (2018-2020),
  • Sectoral targets and implications for participants,
  • Proposed EE Compliance Certificate and how it will impact EE and BBBEE,
  • The interface between EE and BBBEE and contradictions/ misalignments,
  • Quantitative and transactional bias versus transformational bias,
  • Integration of EE objectives and outcomes in company/institutional strategy, policies, procedures and practices,
  • Challenges of organisational transformation and the qualitative aspects of EE,
  • Introduction of a positive rating that rewards and recognises effort and progress.
  • Latest B-BBEE developments, verification challenges and risks that have arisen,
  • The need to focus on implementation and progress (versus verification),
  • A strategic approach to B-BBEE, and the link to company strategy (horizontal/vertical scorecards and causality),
  • Maximisation of each element of
    B-BBEE (equity ownership; management control; skills development; enterprise & supplier development; socio-economic development), with focus on impact and value added.
