Managing Incapacity due to Poor Performance in the Workplace

This course ensures that you will have the knowledge to deal with the Formal Incapacity Performance Management process in a manner that is acceptable to both the employee and the employer, and that you will understand the requirements required to comply with the legal and Performance improvement process.

Introduction
Employees may be re-deployed, demoted or dismissed due to Poor Performance, following a formal Performance Improvement process, which proves incapacity where no further intervention will remedy or improve the performance.
Who is this course aimed at?
Line Managers, HR Professionals and Union Representatives.
Course content and outcomes
At the conclusion of this course, the delegate should understand how to:
- Identify poor performance;
- Distinguish between poor performance and misconduct;
- Manage poor performance;
- Follow the correct procedure and process for initiating an Incapacity Hearing for Poor Performance;
- Identify what qualifies as unfair dismissal in the case of poor performance, to ensure that a case referred to the CCMA can stand up to scrutiny.

No.

This course is accredited by SABPP, and CPD points will be awarded to delegates who complete the course.
