Managing Incapacity due to Ill Health in the Workplace

This course ensures that you will have the knowledge to deal with the Ill Health Incapacity process in a manner that is acceptable to both the employee and the employer, and that you will understand the requirements required to comply with the legal and medical requirements for this process.
Introduction
Employees may be temporarily or permanently incapacitated due to ill health or injury, which requires that a no faults incapacity process is followed. Where employers provide risk benefits, the process to access these benefits will run in parallel to the legal process.

Line Managers, HR Professionals, Employees and Union Representatives.
Course content and outcomes
At the conclusion of this course, the delegate should understand:
- How to implement a process for managing an employee with Ill Health and/or injury in the workplace;
- How to initiate an Incapacity Hearing for Ill Health;
- Understand what qualifies as unfair dismissal in the case of Ill Health;
- How to initiate the Insurance Process for Ill Health;
- The Workmen’s Compensation Process.

None.
Accreditation
This course is accredited by SABPP, and CPD points will be awarded to delegates who complete the course.
