Course content and outcomes
At the conclusion of this course the delegate should understand:
- Operational efficiency, in particular working capital management,
- Measures of operating profitability,
- How to identify measures of profitability that are most relevant for operations;
- The drivers of value creation and how to develop relevant key performance indicators and incentives,
- How to create incentives for value creation,
- How to calculate the net amount of capital used in a business and its cost,
- How to manage a balance sheet to create value from capital, in,particular working capital,
- How to reconcile cash flow and income statement profits,
- How to construct a cash flow statement and be able to break down overall cash flow into its operating, investing and financing components,
- The difference between accounting and economic profits,
- The three financial statements and the linkages between them.
