Course content and outcomes

At the conclusion of this course the delegate should understand:

  • The purpose of a disciplinary hearing,
  • The role of all parties in the disciplinary hearing,
  • The disciplinary hearing process,
  • Facilitating the leading of evidence and examination of witnesses,
  • Procedural and substantive fairness,
  • Rules of evidence,
  • Deciding the merits of the case and drafting a finding,
  • Considering mitigating and aggravating factors,
  • Fair and unfair dismissals,
  • Reasons for dismissal,
  • Choosing the appropriate sanction.

Are there any prerequisites for attending this course?

Yes. The course ‘Initiating Disciplinary Hearings’ should be completed before taking part in this course.

Accreditation

This course is accredited by SABPP and CPD points will be awarded to delegates who complete the course.

Training Rates & Information

All our courses can be run In-house and can be customised (on request) to suit your organisation’s needs.

  • 1-10 delegates: a flat daily rate of R26 775.00
  • PLUS a daily fee for each additional delegate of R3 000.00

In addition to offering them as in-house courses, we also run a selection of our most popular courses as Public Courses during the year.

  • 1-day courses:
    R6900.00 ex. VAT per delegate;
  • 2-day courses:
    R13 800.00 ex. VAT per delegate
  • Once your booking has been confirmed in writing and you have been invoiced, an upfront payment is required. Once invoiced, there will be no refunds.
  • 21st Century reserves the right to invoice customers for goods and services ordered, which were procured upon written request (completed form), either via a non-cancellable, irrevocable order, an official purchase order, or an email instruction received.
  • 21st Century reserves the right not to accept any order.
  • If you cancel or reschedule at any time before the date of training, payment will be retained, and you will receive a training credit, which can be used within a calendar year. You may, however, send a substitute in your place at no extra cost. Please inform us – IN WRITING – of the new name for registration purposes at least one working day before the event.
  • In the event of unforeseen circumstances, 21st Century reserves the right to change the programme content, the speakers, the venue or the date.
  • If the event is canceled, delegates will be notified in writing. The delegate can then choose to attend on the next available date of the scheduled event.
  • Please note that prices may be subject to annual changes, based on inflation, without prior notification.
