    Functions include:

    • Heading up Client Delivery for 21st Century;
    • Responsible for creating and launching the 21st Century Analytics business, making use of data captured through remuneration surveys to provide benchmarking, strategic workforce planning and client analysis services;
    • Project Management of large client projects incorporating Reward, Engagement and Remuneration Surveys, Job Evaluation, Executive Reward and Organisational Design;
    • Responsible for developing and driving 21st Century business across Africa and the Middle East. Large projects won in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Bahrain, Malawi, Kenya and Zambia;
    • Serving on the Executive Committee of 21st Century Consulting;
    • Publication of articles and speaking at conferences in support of brand development;
    • Consulting to clients in the areas of job evaluation, reward, executive reward, reward strategies, strategy and organisational design and Strategic Workforce Planning.

    Functions included:

    • Serving as a Subject Matter Expert on regional Korn Ferry forums in the areas of Job Evaluation and Reward, Executive Reward, Organisational Design and Strategic Workforce Planning;
    • Delivering Reward Training externally and internally, as well as developing Reward skills internally;
    • Headed up the Reward and OD practices for Korn Ferry (South Africa and SSA);
    • Drove the Africa Strategy. This included establishing virtual hub offices in Kenya and Nigeria to serve East and West Africa;

    • Heading up the Work Measurement/Job Evaluation Practice for Hay Group (Africa), coordinating all job evaluation initiatives and driving internal skills development and training;
    • Managing and marketing the two Hay Group job evaluation products namely the Hay Guide Charts and the JE Manager computerized system. This included all updates, releases, client events and system improvements;
    • Consulting to clients in the areas of JE and Reward.

    Functions included:

    • Co-founder and partner in a consulting business in Cape Town;
    • Consulting to various clients spread across the medical, retail and transport industries as well as local government regarding Performance Management and Remuneration Practices, Job Evaluation, Organisational Development, Human Resources Administration and Strategic Planning;
    • Job Grading and training on the JE Manager job evaluation system in Intellectual Capital’s role as accredited agents for Renwick Reward in the Western and Eastern Cape. Renwick Reward was purchased by Hay Group in 2004.

    Executive Assistant to the Chairman
    (February 1996 – October 1996)

    Functions included:

    • External contact with Government/Business on behalf of the Chairman and representing the Chairman on certain occasions;

    • Drafting of correspondence, business plans, budgets, speeches, media releases, minutes and reports in support of Osprey’s role as South African agents for British Aerospace;
    • Secretary to the Boards of SA Airlink and The Airborne Trust.

    Department of Foreign Affairs

    Senior Foreign Service Officer (Diplomat)
    (April 1992 – January 1996)

    Functions included:

    • Research and intelligence gathering, drafting of reports, project submissions, press releases and speeches;

    • Planning, organisation and implementation of itineraries and background information for visiting dignitaries and South African dignitaries travelling abroad;
    • Liaison with foreign embassies and the provision of support to South African embassies within designated geographical area;
    • Seconded to the United Nations Operation in Mozambique (ONUMOZ) in 1994 for 1 year;
    • Worked on the Angolan, Scandinavian and Russian desks.
